Michele Blackwell

As the leader of the Advantage Dental+ team, Michele Blackwell oversees the support operations for more than 80 practices across the United States focused on delivering care to underserved communities. Michele is passionate about making a meaningful difference in patient’s lives by championing a value-based care model focused on prevention and education.

Before joining the Advantage Dental+ team, Michele spent more than 20 years in various senior functions for DentaQuest. Most recently, she led the Client Engagement team, providing strategic leadership and serving as the primary liaison for internal collaboration, communication and operational matters impacting DentaQuest clients nationwide. Michele’s history with DentaQuest equips her with invaluable experience and knowledge about health systems, barriers to dental care and consumer needs.

Michele’s earlier roles at DentaQuest, including sales director for the Southeast Region, executive director for DentaQuest in Tennessee, and vice president of DentaQuest’s Florida market, demonstrate effective leadership and a grounding in provider relations, network growth and improving access to care.

A Kentucky native, Michele received her master’s degree from Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, TN., and her undergraduate degree from Kentucky Wesleyan College in Owensboro, KY.
