Step 2: Scroll through the list of available plans in your state and choose the name of your dental insurance plan as it appears on your member ID card. Step 3: Then you can look up dentist in four ways:

1. Find a Dentist by Name – If you know the name of the dentist you want, click on “Dentist by Name” and enter their last name in the search bar. Click on the name when it shows up below the search bar.*

If you do not have a specific dentist in mind and want a comprehensive list of all dentists who accept your plan, click “Search all” and click the magnifying glass in the right corner of the search field.*

2. Find a Dentist by Specialty – If you are searching for a dentist that specializes in a particular area, such as orthodontics or periodontics, click “Dentists by specialty.” Just start entering the type of dentist you want. The search bar will show suggestions to help as you type.*

3. Find an Office or Facility by Name – If you know the name of the practice—for example, Baltimore City Dental Group—click “Office or Facility by Name. Details for that practice, such as address, office hours and phone number, are provided in the search results.*

4. Find Services by Type – Use this if you are looking for office locations, care centers or other service areas near you.*

*Results pages can be further filtered by several options, such as provider gender, hours, whether they are accepting new patients and wheelchair accessibility.”

Helpful Tips:

  • Have your member ID card handy. It includes the name of your dental insurance plan.
  • Advanced Search gives you the option of selecting many criteria at the same time. These include languages spoken by provider, specialties and practices offering weekend and evening hours.
  • On all results pages with two or more providers listed, you can select the compare option to the left of the address to view a side-by-side comparison of the practices.
  • Filter by location to help find a location closest to your home.
  • The first results you see are within 25 miles of the city, state and zip code that you entered. Beneath the map on the top left, slide the blue dot to the left to locate providers within one to five miles.
