President

David Healy oversees Sun Life’s U.S. Dental business, including DentaQuest, which is the second-largest dental benefits provider in the nation and the largest provider by membership of Medicaid and CHIP dental benefits. David brings decades of experience in Group Benefits to the Dental business, building strategies around market growth and product development, broadening access to care, and improving the oral health of all.

Previously, David was President, Group Benefits, which includes industry-leading life, disability, absence management, supplemental health, dental and vision benefits. Under David’s leadership, the Group business expanded to incorporate health services and clinical expertise that improve health outcomes and help people close coverage gaps and return to work. David has a passion for digital innovation and has led the modernization of Group Benefits capabilities, including digital benefits administration, partner connectivity, client onboarding, and other distribution, employer, and member solutions.

In 2018 David oversaw the acquisition of Maxwell Health, adding digital talent and expertise to the organization. He also led the integration of Assurant Employee Benefits, which Sun Life acquired in 2015.

Prior to leading Group Benefits, David headed the U.S. Operations and Technology teams for seven years, consolidating the function across all Sun Life U.S. business groups. Prior to joining Sun Life, David held roles at Keyport Life Insurance Company and Manulife Financial.

David received a Bachelor of Science in marketing from Providence College and holds an MBA, high honors, from Boston University. He is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Boston Children’s Museum.
