Elie Abouzeid

Elie Abouzeid headshotSenior Information Security & Enterprise Risk Executive

Elie is a dynamic, versatile and accomplished security risk leader with over 20 years of designing, building, and strengthening security programs at private and publicly traded organizations in highly regulated industries. This includes a level 1 PCI DSS Service Provider, a publicly traded investment company, a bank, and multiple provider payers and consumer-driven health care providers. For Elie, securing the user must start with accepting the user as is – security cannot depend on necessary user changes. This approach has been well-suited for adapting to and securing a remote workforce, as well as securing mergers and acquisitions. Elie credits his success with his focus on tailoring security programs to the business needs and successfully engaging players at all levels, including boards of directors, audit committees, executive management, state and federal agencies, and internal business stakeholders. Elie has a long track record of creating security programs from the ground up and is both a technical expert as well as an attorney licensed to practice in State and Federal Courts in Massachusetts. He is an infrastructure and application security subject matter expert with extensive hands-on experience architecting and designing technical and administrative security controls such as SIEM, email security gateways, data loss prevention, database audit monitoring, privileged access management, and data classification. Elie is a valued strategic thinker in the Information Security and Privacy space with a history of execution and accomplishment as a change agent and visionary, as well as an exceptional ability to energize and engage teams across many skill levels and functional areas. Elie is an experienced public speaker with native fluency in English, Spanish and Arabic, as well as conversational French and Portuguese.
