DentaQuest partners with various organizations across the country to promote prevention and education on oral health.
The epidemic of youth vaping continues to be a serious concern. A 2021 study from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimated that more than 2 million U.S. middle and high school students were using e-cigarettes in 2021, with more than 8 in 10 of those youth using flavored e-cigarettes.
DentaQuest is working with national nonprofit partners to educate young people and their parents about the risks associated with tobacco product use, including e-cigarettes.
DentaQuest and America’s ToothFairy are partnering on a national educational campaign to encourage thoughtful conversations between adolescents, teens and their parents about the health risks of vaping.
America’s ToothFairy is a national champion for children’s oral health. DentaQuest and America’s ToothFairy have worked together on multiple campaigns that engage children and their families to master the basics of good oral health and prevention. These annual oral health challenges are helping children and their families learn to keep their mouths healthy today and, we hope, will lead to healthy choices in the future.

Informed education about vaping and oral health is critical to good decision making. DentaQuest partnered with the CATCH Global Foundation and The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) School of Public Health on a lesson that explains what vaping does to a person’s oral health. This lesson is now part of the CATCH My Breath Vaping Prevention Curriculum for grades 5 through 12.
The CATCH My Breath evidence-based, peer-led youth prevention program equips students to make informed decisions about the use of all types of e-cigarettes. Over 1.6 million students in over 5,000 schools in all 50 states have experienced the program. The curriculum is offered free of cost. CATCH My Breath is the only school-level vaping intervention endorsed by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
